You show the original on screen; you solemnly declare that the attached copy is a faithful reproduction; the commissioner receives the declaration and seals everything.

This is the declarant's solemn declaration, not a notarial certified copy. Check that the receiving body accepts it in this form.

How it works

2. Verify your identity with a government-issued ID (biometric verification by AssertID), once.

3. Video session with a commissioner for oaths appointed by Québec's Ministère de la Justice: verification, the oath, signature on screen.

4. Sealed document emailed within minutes, with a verification code. Sealed originals can be mailed.

Is it valid?

Yes. Our commissioners are appointed by Québec's Ministère de la Justice under the Courts of Justice Act and listed in the public register of commissioners for oaths. The session is held by video, the declarant's identity is verified before and during the session, and the sealed document carries the commissioner's name and commission number, the date and a verification code.

A commissioner for oaths is not a notary: we do not notarize or apostille. For a document going abroad, check with the receiving authority.
